I received this shell yesterday. I'm very excited about the project.
I'll start with why this isn't a five star review: They cut in snare beds but there is nothing that documents where they are centered, making it potentially difficult to figure out where you need to place the hardware. Early forensic investigations suggest that the landmark you are looking for is the seam, but the bed is relatively shallow and it can be mildly challenging to even figure out which is the snare side and which is the batter. I will be doing further investigation to confirm that this is right, but it's at least close.
I would have preferred to cut my own snare beds, but the fact that they were there was clearly spelled in the description out and I had a pretty good idea that I would have to be figuring out where they were before I bought the shell.
Now for all of the positives: Very nice grain on the outer ply, neat workmanship, no gaps or voids in the inner plies, the bearing edges look great and I'm confident that the snare beds are well cut, but I will be more sure of that when I do my forensics and measurements for drilling over the weekend. Lastly, you don't often find a all walnut ply shell and this one looks great.
I don't know that I've reviewed here before, but if I can I will update this review later with my observations next week after I've finished marking out the drill holes and hopefully drilling.
