I ordered mine with brass plating and screws for a metal shell. This is a simple, elegant, and rock-solid piece of gear. It is made of solid cast metal (probably zinc) and feels very sturdy. The smaller outer clamp segment is identical to the clamp on the SR-003 throwoff, which I will also review.

Overall excellent. I will definitely buy again.
