Item description states it will match early Ludwig brass/gold hoops, alluding to the fact that this will work with the Ludwig drums these are used for. While it fits the hoops and matches the style, these will absolutely NOT work with the tension rods on the vintage Ludwig drums. Unless you also purchase and replace the tension rods with more modern versions, they will likely not fit through these as the holes are MUCH smaller than the ones they are designed to replace. You will NEED to purchase new tension rods. Even with the same thread count and standard "7/32 diameter", I'm finding many other tension rods for different drums don't have room to rotate freely in these. They do their job, just expect to purchase new tension rods, even if you don't need them. *In a quick test, a standard 7/32 drill bit doesn't fit through the hole in these.*
