Trick Dominator Single Bass Drum Pedal

Is lighter weight than other pedals I've picked up and tried. Is responsive - pedal rebounds quickly to maintain contact with the foot ready for the next stroke. Has a spring that is too stiff - takes at least 30 lbs of force to make the beater hit the head at the lowest (most relaxed spring) setting. This amount of force is too fatiguing especially for speed work. Had to get another spring with about 7 to 10 lbs of force to hit the head. Replaced the metal beater, that comes with the pedal, with a traditional felt beater. Metal beater will certainly cause more wear on the drum head and will probably necessitate purchase of some kind of pad to attempt to protect the head. Was disappointed at Trick Drums lack of response to retailers concerning next availability of pedals. I suspect that there was a reason for delay in availability, but Trick never offered a reason. Fortunately, DFD had this pedal in stock. Of about 7 other retailers I contacted in May of 2019, none had this pedal in stock and didn't know when the pedal would be available.
