This is a good quality replacement, but it will NOT fit 5/8" tubes. I got this to use on a Ludwig 1123-1 "Spur Lock" hi-hat stand from the 60's/70's which has a 5/8" upper tube diameter. This is too big for 5/8"! I was able to work around it by wrapping the top of my upper tube with some duct tape (to increase the tube diameter) and then I pounded it on with a rubber mallet. It works ok, but just took some extra work. I'm not sure why Gibraltar says that it fits 5/8" tubing, because it clearly doesn't; it's too large for 5/8" tubing. Make sure you measure your upper tube diameter before ordering.
