This works as intended and is easy to use and install. It would be nice if Drum Factory Direct would give the actual length of this vent, instead of just telling you it's a "medium shaft: for up to 3/4" thick shells". That isn't very helpful, so allow me to give you the length of this item: It measures 1 inch in length, from the underside of the flange (that sits flat against the outside of the shell) to the end of the threaded shaft is again, 1 inch. I wish I would've know the actual length, because this one was waaaaay too long for my 10 ply snare. Unless you have a really think shell, this will most likely be too long for your drum. Measure the thickness of your shell to be sure. If your shell is less than 3/4" thick, this vent will be too long.
