This thing holds a 16x16 floor tom without issue! I don't know its weight but my tom is an MCT 8 lug with diecast hoops and the 3 leg brackets removed. The shell is all maple at 5.2mm thick. I want to add that the instructions state that this only works with a 15" or 16" diameter drum with 8 lugs. On mine, the rubber grommets are almost at the outermost position of its adjustable span. With the 16" depth the mount is an inch from its most collapsed position and 1/2" from fully extended.
I only got this because I added a 14x12 rack tom setup as a floor tom and decided to mount the 16 onto the same stand (Gibraltar 9713PM double tom stand with SC-BA78 arms). I'm glad I did tom strikes feel much better than it did with the orginal spindly legs and air suspension feet. After an hour practice session, no rattles or loosening, yay!
